Nick Ashford died at the age of sixty nine, not because of any vehicular accidents which may be attached with curt trailer hitch but due to his throat cancer. He fought with the sickness long enough before he finally gave up.
Ashford along with his wife Valerie Simpson were the writers behind the popular songs “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” and “Reach Out and Touch Somebody’s Hand”. The two have been married for thirty eight years and they were able to withstand the challenges of married life. Aside from Valerie Nick has also left his two daughters named Nicole and Asia.
